I like Birkenstock Arizona EVA for many reasons, but the main reason is their $45 price tag. It saves me from the panic that I usually endure after spending too much money on shoes-especially seasonal shoes like sandals.

Unlike EVA sandals, which are more traditional Arizona contemporaries (made of wool, shearling, or leather), plastic sandals will not empty your bank account. They look just as good on your feet (and, in some cases, better-these Birkenstocks should not be worn outside the house, sorry!).

Spending more than $100 on a pair of shoes feels like a huge promise. But less than $50? I can bear it. Let's do the math. If I spend $45 on a pair of shoes, I have to wear it for at least 90 days a year—three months in summer—that’s 50 cents a day. I have been wearing it for more than two years. Birkenstock basically paid me to wear them at this point. (This is how it works, right?)

In addition to its lower price, EVA is also very comfortable and easier to maintain than more expensive leather similar products. EVA is made of synthetic plastic or ethylene vinyl acetate (the name EVA for sandals is an abbreviation for this combination of materials). Therefore, whether I wear them in the dry desert of California Joshua Trees or in the crowded streets of Manhattan, all I need to do to clean them is to wipe them with soap and towels.

From my perspective as a Wirecutter writer, the most important aspects of shoes are affordability and durability. But the superficial side of my judgment-important to any style writer-wants to prioritize the appearance of the shoes. Although EVA is affordable, durable, and comfortable, the real reason for buying shoes is that they look good on your feet to complete a set of gear. Arizona EVAs can easily look as beautiful as the more expensive Arizona—perhaps even more so, thanks to their charming and subtle monochromatic colors.

Unlike traditional Birkenstocks with cork soles, EVA is very lightweight and costs less than $100. Even if the temperature drops, we are sliding into them.

I own leather Birkenstock sandals and plastic Birkenstock EVA shoes. On any occasion when I wear leather Birkenstock shoes, I will never wear my EVA shoes. For any situation where low-key, handsome sandals meet the requirements, the two are completely interchangeable. This means that for less than $50, you can have a pair of Birkenstocks that retain the history and style of the leather version, but at the same time increase the price and ease of maintenance of these shoes. In addition, EVA has a variety of colors.

I am very basic. I only own black EVA. But I plan to buy the white one next. If I want, I can buy a pair of Arizona calcareous EVA. Then I can take them absently into a muddy puddle. Then I can clean them, they look like they have just arrived-all of them cost less than you to buy a similar pair of shoes, which will not walk around that dirty neighborhood . You know what we call it in business, right? That is magic, children.

We have never formally tested the Birkenstock Arizona EVA with other sandals, but the following is the information we have determined:

In the past two years, Birkenstock Arizona EVA sandals have been on sale at the end of August.

Best price we've seen: $35

Birkenstock Arizona EVA is waterproof and machine washable, so it is safe to throw them in the washing machine (although we do not recommend this).

No matter how dirty they are, your EVA can be easily cleaned with dish soap and water. Spread the mixture on a kitchen rag and wipe your shoes when you are in a mess. and many more! Clean Burks.
